Why our Berries Taste Different- On Purpose

We want to take a moment to share something openly- because transparency matters to us.

Some customers have described our unsweetened dried cranberries and dried wild blueberries as very tart or drier than expected. And honestly? That feedback makes sense.

Most dried berries on the market are sweetened with sugar or apple juice, and often finished with oil to make them soft and glossy. Ours are not. We use only whole fruit, dried gently at low temperatures, with nothing added and nothing taken away. That means the natural tartness stays, and the fiber-rich skin remains intact.

Wild blueberries, in particular, are smaller and more concentrated than cultivated berries, so their flavor is deeper and more intense. The dryness you notice isn’t age or processing- it’s simply real fruit, in its truest form.

Because of this, our berries shine best when paired thoughtfully:

  • Tossed into yogurt or oatmeal
  • Added to salads with a vinaigrette
  • Mixed into baked goods
  • Blended into smoothies where their flavor balances beautifully

They’re not meant to be candy- they’re meant to be nourishment.
